Overview
TB-500 is a synthetic version of the active region of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tฮฒ4), a 43-amino-acid peptide that is naturally present in nearly all human and animal cells. Tฮฒ4 plays a central role in cell migration, blood vessel formation, and regulation of actin - a protein critical to cell structure and movement. TB-500 was initially studied extensively in equine medicine for injury recovery in racehorses before gaining attention in the human biohacking community. It is considered a systemic peptide, meaning it can travel through the bloodstream to reach injury sites throughout the body.
โ๏ธHow it works
TB-500 works primarily by upregulating actin, which promotes cell migration and proliferation - key steps in tissue repair. It also promotes angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth), reduces inflammation by downregulating inflammatory cytokines, and has been shown to prevent cell death in damaged tissues. Its systemic nature means it doesn't need to be injected near the injury site - it can locate and act on damaged tissue throughout the body.

TB-500 vs Thymosin Beta-4
TB-500 and Thymosin Beta-4 are often used interchangeably, but they're not identical. TB-500 is a synthetic fragment representing the active region of the full Tฮฒ4 protein. It contains the actin-binding domain responsible for most of Tฮฒ4's biological effects. The full Thymosin Beta-4 molecule is more expensive to produce, which is why TB-500 (the active fragment) is more commonly available.
The Wolverine Stack
Combining TB-500 with BPC-157 is one of the most popular peptide stacks in the recovery space. The rationale: BPC-157 works locally and enhances growth factors at the injury site, while TB-500 works systemically to promote cell migration and reduce inflammation body-wide. Together, they target repair from both ends. While there are no published studies on this specific combination, the community has widely adopted it for accelerated recovery from tendon, ligament, and muscle injuries.
Reconstitution and storage
TB-500 typically comes in 5 mg vials. Reconstitute with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water for a concentration of 2.5 mg/mL. At a 2500 mcg dose, you'd draw 100 units (the full syringe). TB-500 is subcutaneous - inject anywhere (abdomen is most common). Store reconstituted peptide at 2โ8ยฐC and use within 3โ4 weeks.
